Drawing Study 'Stations of the Cross'

Drawing Study 'Stations of the Cross 14'

born Dowlais Top, Dowlais

In recent years most of my work using the medium of watercolour has been produced as studies for larger works.
Historically watercolour has featured in my early paintings depicting the Welsh landscape.
The medium has played a large part in my development as a painter. The earliest influences being found at Cyfarthfa Museum and Gallery, Merthyr Tydfil - where the collection of work by Richard Wilson, John Cozens, and John Crome provided fine examples of the genre and later at the Royal College of Art London - with frequent visits to the Victoria and Albert Museum to study the works of Turner and Constable.
